Critiquing Modern Consumption with Vibrant Realism
In my paintings I explore with daily colourful objects, the human behaviour and our feelings as consumers: joy, surprise, excitement, confusion, anxiety, disbelief. Our eyes and thoughts are dazzled when we see appealing things, we want to possess, consume, adore, dispose off.

Exploring Consumerism Through Vivid Art
By approaching children’s toys, treats like water guns, food, Pez Dispensers or candy treats, I try to capture a joyful nostalgia, but at the same time link them to very serious and current topics: Ex.. **scarcity and misuse of water**, **Sugar addiction**, **Lack of Understanding**, **Poor Nutrition**, **Family Values**, **Global Warming**.

Mauricio Franco
Artist
As a child I used to draw cars with wide tyres, fog lights and vibrant colors like racing cars. After finishing school I decided to study graphic design, as I discovered that expressing my visual creativity was something worth of doing as a living. I worked as Graphic Designer for more than 25 years in my native Colombia and moved to Germany nine years ago, since then I have been painting as my main activity.
