Consumption and idolatry of Pop Culture
My work is undoubtedly a profound and visually striking critique of the contemporary obsession with consumption and idolatry of pop culture. I combine different symbols and cultural elements to convey these complex messages. I play with the double meaning: the innocent fun of childhood versus the tensions created in our world by our consumer society.
I represent elements sometimes in almost “chaotic” compositions at a much larger scale, with the use of vibrant colors, metallic shines and reflections and feel for the materials, generating a characteristic contrast in my works and a visually attractive atmosphere.
